Last week: 3-1
Were it not for the Steelers’ 18-16 victory — rather than, say, 20-16 — then I would have ran the table picking games in the Wild Card round. The Chiefs (-3) and Packers (-1) each covered with ease, and I correctly picked Minnesota (+4.5) to both cover the spread and lose to Seattle.
This weekend the matchups are more difficult to pick, if for nothing else that every remaining team, save for the Chiefs, has a legitimate franchise quarterback. The parity among the remaining contenders is real.
As for the picks…
Chiefs (+5.5) over PATRIOTS
You can keep the points. I am convinced that the winner of the KC-NE matchup will be representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. Kansas City are winners of 11 straight, and though this may prove the toughest game on their schedule to date, I can’t go against my guys now.
CARDINALS (-7.5) over Packers
Last week’s 35-18 win over Washington could have restored a little faith in Green Bay, but I am surprised the line didn’t creep up near double digits. Arizona, for my money, is the NFC and Super Bowl favorite.
Seahawks (+3.5) over PANTHERS
This could be the least watchable game of the four, which seems to play into Seattle’s favor.
Steelers (+9) over BRONCOS
I like the Broncos to win, but nine seems like far too many points.
